Afghanistan A Secures Thrilling 11-Run Win Against Sri Lanka A

Afghanistan A claimed a hard-fought 11-run victory over Sri Lanka A in a closely contested match. Batting first, Afghanistan posted 166/7, led by Sediqullah Atal's explosive 83 off 46 balls and Zubaid Akbari's steady 57 off 54.
The pair added 142 runs for the first wicket, building a strong foundation before a middle-order collapse triggered by Dushan Hemantha, who took an impressive 6 wickets for 23 runs. Despite the setback, Afghanistan's bowlers defended the total to seal the win.
In response, Sri Lanka A's chase got off to a shaky start, losing opener Lahiru Udara for just 6. However, captain Nuwanidu Fernando led the fightback with a rapid 51 off 32 balls. Ahan Wickramasinghe also contributed a quickfire 31 off 18, but wickets kept falling at crucial moments. Afghanistan’s bowlers, led by Faridoon Dawoodzai (3/40) and Bilal Sami (2/19), kept Sri Lanka A in check, eventually bowling them out for 155 in 19.3 overs.
Despite some late resistance, Sri Lanka A fell 11 runs short of the target, giving Afghanistan A a well-earned victory.
