He smashed the Pakistan bowlers to all parts of the ground. Having made a run a ball 151, Gurbaz laid the platform for a big total. Ibrahim Zadran also supported him well and scored 80 runs. On the back of these two outstanding knocks, Afghanistan got to a mammoth 300 in 50 overs of play.

During the chase, Imam ul Haq and Fakhar Zaman showed urgency right from the word go. They fully utilised the powerplay overs before Zaman was dismissed by Fazalhaq Farooqi. Babar Azam and Imam ul Haq then took the responsibility of taking Pakistan over the line. They scored 91 and 53 runs respectively. The task wasn't over though as Pakistan needed some quick runs towards the back end which Shadab Khan obliged with. He smashed 48 off 35 balls to bring Pakistan closer. In the end, it was Naseem Shah who struck a 5 ball 10 run knock to see Pakistan home in the last over.
