England all-rounder Moeen Ali will join the BBC’s Cricket coverage this summer, starting with this week’s second England v New Zealand Test at Trent Bridge and the Third Test next week at Headingley.

Moeen, who was honoured with an OBE last week, will join the Test Match Special team as they cover England’s second test against New Zealand. He will continue to feature as a regular member of 5 Sports Extra’s TMS team throughout the summer.

The ex-England captain will also feature in BBC’s cricket coverage later this summer for such events as The Hundred.

Moeen Ali said: “It’s an honour to be joining the BBC’s Cricket coverage this summer. There’s a feast of cricket to look forward to over the coming months – I can’t wait to get started this week with the legendary TMS team for our coverage of England’s second Test v New Zealand!”

Barbara Slater, Director of BBC Sport, said: “A true star of English cricket, Moeen Ali will be a superb addition to our BBC Cricket team across TV, radio and online.”

Cricket fans can listen to the BBC’s live radio coverage of England v New Zealand tomorrow (10th June) from 10:25am on 5 Sports Extra. A special preview show will air this evening (9th June) on 5 Live from 10pm.

Fans can also watch highlights of the Test each evening on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer from 7pm.
