Live Scores and Stats - England v Ireland Test at Lord's

Lord's Cricket Ground, London is hosting the two teams for the One off Test Match.

Ben Stokes will be captaining the English side that will showcase the exciting Harry Brook and Ben Duckett duo in action.

Jonathan Bairstow is also making a comeback into the side which will add to the chances of England thrashing the visitors in the Only Test Match.

When it comes to the bowling front; the participation of James Anderson in the Test Match is doubtful though as he is going through a groin strain nursing. Jofra Archer's injury adds more stress to the team management. Ollie Robinson however, has been cleared to join the squad after his ankle scans showed no threatening injury. He is likely to lead the bowling attack along with Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes and Matthew Potts.

England have also included the young fast bowler Josh Tongue in their sqaud. Tongue is quite excited for this golden opportunity to perform against Ireland. In his own words, "The invaluable experience I gained during the winter as part of the Lions team has given me the hunger to represent my country in more international cricket matches and obviously the next step is Test cricket."

"While my focus has primarily been on playing for Worcestershire, who I love playing for, the news of my selection for the Test squad is fantastic news."

Ireland on the other hand will be captained by Andy Balbirnie. They will be missing out on the likes of Joshua Little. He is currently participating in the ongoing IPL and is slated to represent Gujarat Titans in the Finals on the 29th of June.

According to Ireland's Performance Director Richard Holdsworth, "We are incredibly proud to go and play against England and at Lord's. It's a special occasion," Holdsworth said. "However, it's not a pinnacle event. And where we have to put our energies and ensure we have the best team on the park is in our pinnacle events.

"Going to a World Cup Qualifier where only 10 teams [two from the Qualifier] can qualify for that World Cup, that is still the biggest prize in the game as far as we're concerned, and certainly as far as the world game is concerned."

Ireland performed very well in the practice match played against Essex, which they won by 10 wickets. Lorcan Tucker and Paul Stirling seemed to be in good form as they struck 97 and 107 runs respectively in the first innings. Thomas Mayes picked up 7 wickets in the game and looks to be an exciting prospect in the upcoming Test Match.
