Is your Cricket Pavilion or Clubhouse fully insured ?

Most Property insurance is based on a valuation of how much it would cost to rebuild and this is no different to how your pavilion would be valued for the purposes of property insurance.  However ensuring that you have professional advice on the right level of cover for your sums insured when most clubs are run by volunteers could be the difference between any potential claim being met or not.   

Would you manage if your sums insured was inadequate to cover a serious claim?

For instance, we were contacted by a Club who had sadly experienced a major arson attack to their historic pavilion.  Not only did this destroy the wooden section but also placed an emotional burden on the club and its members.  

The Club decided to rebuild their pavilion in brick but to their horror the loss adjusters report showed that they were significantly under-insured and the anticipated rebuild costs were almost 50% more than their sum insured.  To their dismay, as they had not revised their sums insured level for a number of years, their insurers reduced the amount in line with amount they were under-insured.  Despite planned fund raising activities this still left the Club tens of thousands of pounds short of their planned rebuilding costs forcing them to seriously rethink their building plans.
