Kallis emphasises on use of right strategy to win games for Libra Legends

Former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis who is currently playing for the Libra Legends in the ongoing Masters Champions League believes they need to devise their strategies perfectly in order to go a distance in the tournament.

It was Kallis who led the team in Libra Legends' opening game against Gemini Arabians in the absence of their original skipper Sourav Ganguly.

A powerful batting performance from the Arabians led by Richard Levi and Kumar Sangakkara helped them post a total of 234 in the 20 overs which was out of reach for Libra Legends as they lost the game by 78 runs.

Apart from the undisciplined bowling from the Libra Legends bowlers, they dropped regular catches as well making life difficult for themselves.

Kallis revealed that the players must be aware of the responsibilities handed to them by the team management while keeping the goal of the team in mind. 

"To begin we need to understand what Strategy and Tactics are and how we can use them.

"As we learn these skills and understand them we can not only use them to begin to play ‘Winning the Game’ more frequently.

"The bowling or batting unit within the team, then there is the overall ‘Team Strategy’.

"Tactics are the use of different ‘weapons’ or units within the team and we can see they operate on different levels, The ‘Players strategy’ fits into the ‘Sub Team strategy’ and the ‘Sub Team Strategy’ fits into the ‘Team Strategy’.

"It all goes hand in hand".

Libra Legends are scheduled to play Virgo Super Kings next on 3rd February in Sharjah.
