Malta Cricket Look Forward to Malta Seniors Cricket Festival

This weekend sees the start of the largest cricket festival ever hosted on the Maltese Islands. The Malta Seniors Cricket Festival takes place from Sunday 25th to Friday 30th March at the Marsa Sports Club in Malta.

The competing teams will be Berkshire, Warwickshire, Kent-Surrey, Essex and Yorkshire Ridings. Teams will compete in a round-robin format over the 5 match days.

The tournament dinner take place on Friday 30th March with Matthew Hoggard MBE, (former England international cricketer) attending as guest speaker. Matthew was awarded his MBE by Queen Elizabeth II in 2005 in recognition of his outstanding services to sport and the community. He also won the English Wisden Cricketer of the Year Award in 2006.

Preparations are well under way at the iconic Marsa ground which looks in fine shape before the tournament.
