Division 1 of the Metro Bank One Day Cup Women's is commencing on the 23rd of April with Durham Women locking horns with Essex Women in the opening encounter at the Seat Unique Riverside Ground. The Final Match of the tournament will take place on Sunday, the 21st September 2025, at Utilita Bowl.
A total of 8 Women's County top tier teams are taking part in the Metro Bank One Day Cup namely, Durham, Hampshire Hawks, Lancashire Thunder, Somerset, Essex, The Blaze and Warwickshire.
Durham Women are led by the flamboyant batter Hollie Armitage who has been in the form of her life in domestic circuit. They have spinners like Katherine Fraser and Mady Villiers. Fraser is fresh off a good Qualifiers tournament in Pakistan recently. They also have the experience of Suzie Bates in their team. They can certainly challenge the opposition teams in the Metro Bank One Day Cup Women's.
Essex Women are led by Grace Scrivens, who is young and dynamic by all means. They have fantastic players like Cordelia Griffith, Sophie Munro and Abtaha Maqsood who can change the course of the match in a matter of few overs.
Hampshire Women are led by Georgia Adams. They have a decent squad too including the likes of Ellyse Perry, Maia Bouchier and Charli Knott. They have good chances of making it to the Semi Finals.
Lancashire Women have some star players like Sophie Ecclestone, Alana King, Emma Lamb . It will be a surprise though if they make it to the Semi Finals.
Somerset Women have match winners like Heather Knight, Sophie Luff and Amanda Jade Wellington in their squad. They may make it to the Semi Finals.
Surrey Women also have some star players like Byrony Smith, Sophia Dunkley, Paige Scholfield and Danni Wyatt-Hodge and could go all the way
The Blaze are led by Kirstie Gordon. They are a bowling heavy side and The Blaze are expected to pose a stiff challenge for the opposition teams with the ball in hand.
Warwickshire are led by Georgia Davis and will do well to make it to the Semi Finals.
