In a historic move, New Zealand are touring Bangladesh after a 10 year hiatus to participate in a 3 match ODI series and a 2 match Test series.

The first leg of the tour will comprise of the 3 ODI matches played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur while the Test Series will begin in the second leg, starting from the 28th of November. The second and the final test match will be played from the 6th of December. The venues for the Test Matches haven't been decided yet.

Both teams will fly to India upon the completion of the ODI series. Bangladesh start their World Cup campaign with a match against Afghanistan on the 7th of October in Dharamsala while New Zealand will open the tournament with the opening match against England in Ahmedabad.

New Zealand will be led by Lockie Ferguson in the ODI series while Litton Das will captain the Bangladesh side. Both the teams have decided to field their second string side, owing to the World Cup commitment soon after. Notable players missing out on the ODI series from both the teams are Shakib Al Hasan, Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips, Taskin Ahmed and Tim Southee.

Both New Zealand and Bangladesh are in an ordinary form in ODI cricket. New Zealand were defeated by England with a 3-1 margin while Bangladesh failed to qualify for the Asia Cup Final.
