Opting to bat on Friday, India posted a gigantic total of 283 for one and after that ended South Africa’s innings on 148 to end the series on a high.

India had a brutal start to the innings as Abhishek Sharma (36:18b, 2x4, 4x6) went after the bowlers right from the start. He stitched a 73-run partnership with Sanju Samson inside six overs. After that, it was absolute carnage by Sanju (109 not out:56b, 6x4, 9x6) and Tilak Varma (120 not out:47b, 9x4, 10x6).

They made a mockery of the South African bowlers and slammed them all over the park. Sanju-Varma duo added an unbeaten 210 runs, which was the highest partnership in T20Is, and took India to their second-highest total of 283 for one.

India had a terrific start to the second innings as Arshdeep Singh dismantled the South African top-order. He picked three wickets in his first two overs as the hosts were left tottering at 10 for four. Tristan Stubbs (43:29b, 4x3, 2x6) and David Miller (36:27b, 2x4, 3x6) tried to take the team out of trouble with their counter-attacking innings.

The Stubbs-Miller duo added 86 runs for the fifth wicket and entertained the crowds but couldn’t carry on as the Indian spinners brought the team back into the game. Marco Jansen continued his good form but the target was out of reach as India ended South Africa’s innings on 148 to win the game by 135 runs.
