Sri Lanka Tour of Bangladesh 2024 - Squads, Fixtures and All you need to know

Sri Lanka have arrived Bangladesh in high spirits to participate in a multi format tour, comprising of 3 T20I's, 3 ODI's and 2 Test matches.

The T20I series will begin on the 4th of March with the hosts Bangladesh facing an in-form Sri Lankan team. The ODI series will start on the 13th of March. The two Test matches of the tour will start on the 22nd of March and 30th of March respectively. The Test matches are part of the ICC World Test Championship Cycle.

The 3 T20I's will be played in Sylhet, while the ODI's will be in Chattogram. The first Test will be hosted at Sylhet while the second Test will be played in Chattogram.

Wanindu Hasaranga has been performing superbly as a captain for Sri Lanka. He has been appointed the captain of Sri Lankan T20I side for the Bangladesh series. However, he won't be able to take part in the first two T20I's because of the ban imposed by ICC. Kusal Perera also makes a comeback into the Sri Lankan squad for the Bangladesh T20I's.

Bangladesh on the other hand will be led by the young Najmul Hossain Shanto. He is a capable batter but is yet to prove his mettle as a skipper. Mushfiqur Rahim will be missing out on the T20I series and will only feature in the ODI's. Anamul Haque makes it to the T20I squad based on his exploits in the Bangladesh Premier League. Shakib Al Hasan has been sidelined from the Tour due to anneye injury.

The limited overs series will be a very competitive one, considering the form both teams are in. Bangladesh, especially on their home soil can be tough opponents to beat.
The Test series on the other hand holds a lot of importance for Bangladesh, if they are to secure their first victory over Sri Lanka on home soil.
