Players To Watch Out For
Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR)
Jaiswal hasn’t yet exploded this season and RR would count on him for a blazing start at the top of the order. The left-hander has been the leading scorer for Royals with an aggregate of 1060 runs in 29 innings at an average of close to 40 and strike rate of 160.4 since 2023. His exploits include two tons and six fifties. Jaiswal has a powerplay strike rate of 151.5 in the IPL.
Maheesh Theekshana (RR)
The Sri Lankan mystery spinner will be key in the powerplay on the helpful slow and low track in Guwahati. Theekshana has not had a great start to the season – he bagged two big wickets against Sunrisers but was hammered for 52 in his 4 overs while going wicket-less against Knight Riders. Theekshana is a specialist with the new ball and has bagged 10 wickets in the powerplay at an economy of 8.4 in the IPL. His stock delivery is the carrom ball which has brought him the most success in T20 cricket.
Sanju Samson (RR)
Sanju Samson smoked a quickfire 66 off just 37 deliveries against Sunrisers Hyderabad and would look to provide Royals with a rollicking start at the top of the order. Samson was in top-form in IPL 2024 smashing 531 runs at a scoring rate of 153.5 including five fifties. He has a strike rate of 151.5 in the middle overs since 2020 which is amongst the highest in the IPL in this time-frame.
Rachin Ravindra (CSK)
Rachin Ravindra displayed his class with a match-winning 65 off 45 deliveries on a spin-friendly Chepauk wicket against Mumbai Indians. He assessed the conditions perfectly and did not panic even as CSK lost a few wickets in quick succession in the middle overs, ultimately guiding them to a comfortable four-wicket win. Ravindra scored 47 runs off just 29 deliveries at a strike rate of 162 against the MI spinners, showcasing his mastery against the slower bowlers. He was also the only CSK batter who put on a credible performance in the defeat against RCB.
Noor Ahmed (CSK)
Noor Ahmed has been CSK’s best bowler on display in the first couple of matches this season. After a Player of the Match performance against Mumbai Indians, where the Chinaman ran through their middle-order, conceding just 18 runs in his 4 overs, Noor returned with three big wickets against arch-rivals RCB also at Chepauk. The left-arm wrist spinner has a terrific record in T20 cricket with 154 dismissals in 131 innings at a strike rate of 18.6 and economy rate of 7.12.

Who will score most runs
Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR)
Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK)
Who will pick most wickets
Wanindu Hasaranga (RR)
Noor Ahmad (CSK)
Match Prediction
CSK spinners have done the damage in both matches and they might again be in business on the two-paced track in Guwahati. However, the batting seems too dependent on the duo of Ravindra and Gaikwad and needs the middle-order to fire. Royals have struggled with the bat in both matches and need their top 3 to fire. They have had the wood over CSK in the last few matches but haven’t had the best of starts this season. The wicket in Guwahati will not suit their stroke-players.
