Mumbai Indians registered their second consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Asked to bat, Hyderabad posted a total of 162 for five, in response Mumbai chased the target with 11 balls to spare.

Hyderabad had a decent start to their innings as Abhishek Sharma (40:28b, 7x4) and Travis Head (28:29b, 3x4) added 59 runs for the opening partnership. Hyderabad struggled to score freely as the ball didn't come nicely onto the bat.

They were left tottering at 113 for four and it was then that Heinrich Klaasen (37:28b, 3x4, 2x6) played a brilliant hand. La Aniket Verma (18 not out:8b, 2x6) played a cameo to power Hyderabad to the total of 162 for five. For Mumbai, Will Jacks picked two wickets.

Chasing the target, Rohit Sharma (26:16b, 3x6) took Mumbai off to a flying start with his brutal sixes. Sharma, along with Ryan Rickelton (31:23b, 5x4), added 32 runs for the first wicket. After that, Will Jacks (36:26b, 3x4, 2x6) played a brilliant hand with the bat. Jacks, along with Suryakumar Yadav (26:15b, 2x4, 2x6), added 52 runs for the third wicket to take Mumbai close to the target.

In the end, Hardik Pandya (21:9b, 3x4, 1x6) and Tilak Varma ( 21not out:17b, 2x4) did further carnage. Although Mumbai lost quick wickets in the end they chased the target with four wickets in hand.
