Touring Bangladesh will be a personal decision for the players - Eoin Morgan

England limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan acknowledged that players will be allowed to make a personal decision regarding the upcoming tour of Bangladesh which is currently clouded by security concerns.
Recently, a delegation of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), led by the director of security Reg Dickason, completed a pre-tour inspection of the venues and the hotels where the players will be staying in Bangladesh.
Morgan revealed that the security delegation will meet with the players on Thursday to brief them about the situation in Bangladesh.
“The briefing will be Thursday evening, with head of security Reg Dickason, a rep from the PCA and John Carr from the ECB,” said Morgan.
“They’ve been doing the reccy and we’ll be debriefed by them.
“Alastair will be there and other guys who are available will come.
“They’ll debrief us on the findings on both tours and we’ll chat about it, it has to be quite open.”
Earlier, this month, fast bowler James Anderson stated that the decision regarding the tour should be left to the authorities and not to the players.
However, Morgan feels that if some players have personal reservations about going on the tour, there will be room to accommodate their decisions.
“People have missed tours in the past so you have to make guys feel safe to go.
“It’s a decision you’d rather get out of the way sooner rather than later.
“There’s always room for a personal decision, you also have to understand guys might have different priorities.”
Along with Dickason, ECB’s director of cricket operations John Carr and the Professional Cricketers’ Association chief executive David Leatherdale were also a part of the three-member security delegation.
