West Indies Tour of Australia 2024- Squads, Fixtures and All you need to know

West Indies are touring Australia to participate in a 2 match Test series, 3 match ODI and a 3 match T20I series. The Test series will be followed by ODI series and the T20I series will be the last leg of the tour.

The first Test match will begin on the 17th of January at Adelaide Oval. while the last T20I of the tour will take place on the 13th of February.

The David Warner era in Test cricket is over after his retirement. He is be replaced by Matt Renshaw in the squad against West Indies. He has been trusted upon for the opening slot, surpassing the candidates in the form in Cameron Bancroft and Marcus Harris.

Steve Smith will venture into a new role in the Test Series as an opener. It will be interesting to see how he pans out in the opening slot for the longer format. He will also lead the Australian side for the 3 one dayers, starting from the 2nd of February, 2024.

Cameron Green is also drafted into the squad. He may take up the important number 4 position on the lineup.

The touring West Indies team on the other hand will be led by Kraigg Brathwaite. They have named 7 uncapped players in their Test squad. All rounders Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge and Kevin Sinclair are drafted into the team.

Zachary McCaskie, wicket keeper Tevin Imlach have also got a chance to feature in the Test squad. Important players like Kyle Mayers and Jason Holder are missing out on the series, catering to other T20 commitments. Jayden Seales is also missing out due to a shoulder injury.

Current Form of both teams:

Australia have been on a roll in all the formats in current times. They have won the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, they are performing well also in Test as well as T20I cricket. They are surely the favorites in the Tour.

West Indies on the other hand are doing well in the shorter formats but are really struggling with the red ball format. They will have to bring in their A game, in order to pose any competition to the mighty Australians.
