Afghanistan Tour of Zimbabwe 2024/25 - Teams, Player Squads, Fixtures Schedule, Venues - All you need to know

The highly awaited Afghanistan Tour of Zimbabwe is commencing on December 9th with the hosts Zimbabwe squaring off against a well balanced Afghanistan side in the Inaugural match. It is a three format tour which will begin with the T20I's. The second and the Final Test match of the Tour will start from January 2nd 2025.

The T20I and ODI Series will be played at the Harare Sports Club, Harare while the Test Series is scheduled to be played at the Queen's Sports Club, Bulawayo.

Zimbabwe will be led by Sikandar Raza in the T20I Series and Craig Ervine in the ODI Series. Afghanistan on the other hand will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi in the ODI's while Rashid Khan has been named captain for the T20I's.

Afghanistan have included the young superstar Sediqullah Atal in their squad. Gulbadin Naib has also made a comeback into the national side. Darwish Rasooli, Zubaid Akbari, Nangyal Kharoti have also got the chance to perform against Zimbabwe team.

Zimbabwe on the other hand have highly skilled players in their squad like Tadiwanashe Marumani, Blessing Muzarabani, Clive Madande, Brian Bennett and Richard Ngarava.

Zimbabwe recently gave a tough competition to Pakistan in a 3 match T20I Series and they are expected to cause an upset or two against Afghanistan too.

ODI's - Afghanistan have won 18 out of the 28 matches that both teams have played against each other.

T20I's - Afghanistan have beaten Zimbabwe in 14 out of the 15 matches they played against each other.

Tests - Afghanistan and Zimbabwe both have a 1-1 record in 2 Test Matches they have played against each other.
