Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 144 in their 1st innings having opted to bat first. Niroshan Dickwella 64 was the mainstay of their batting and Pat Cummins 4-39 and Jhye Richardson 3-36 the bowling destroyers for Australia.
At the close of play, in reply, Australia were 77-2 – losing Joe Burns and Usman Khawaja.
