Brad Hogg reprimanded for code of conduct breach

Australian spinner Brad Hogg has been handed an official reprimand after he was deemed to have breached the code of conduct during the Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Lions on Sunday.
According to a media release by the official IPL website on Monday, Hogg was reprimanded for using inappropriate language and he accepted the sanction of the match referee Javagal Srinath.
“In the VIVO IPL match in Kolkata last evening, Brad Hogg of Kolkata Knight Riders was reprimanded by the Match Referee for using inappropriate language, actions or gestures which disparage or provoke an aggressive reaction during a match.
“Mr. Hogg admitted to the level 1 offence (Article 2.1.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials) and accepted the sanction.”
Hogg bowled two overs and conceded 19 runs in his spell while accounting for the wicket of Dinesh Karthik but was unable to prevent the Gujarat Lions from cruising to a five-wicket win.
In the game, Kolkata Knight Riders, buoyed by fifties from Shakib Al Hasan and Yusuf Pathan, posted 158 for four, but Gujarat Lions chased down the target in 18 overs to ascend to the top of the table.
The defeat pushed Kolkata Knight riders to the third spot in the points table while it reduced their net run rate from +0.359 to +0.206.
