Quinton de Kock celebrated the birth of his first child with a Player of the Series winning performance in the three ODIs against India.

Quinton de Kock finished as the highest run-scorer in the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa, making 229 runs from three innings at an average of 76.33 and a strike rate of 96.62.

The wicketkeeper batter struck 21 boundaries and 5 sixes and capped it off with a sensational century in the third ODI, which ultimately proved to be the difference between India and South Africa.

It was on the back of de Kock's performances that South Africa were successful in registering a clean sweep against India which was not at all anticipated before the beginning of the series, with India tipped as favourites.

De Kock recently announced a shocking retirement from Test cricket which coincided with him becoming a father.

The enigmatic figure trained for one week before the beginning of the ODIs and hit his straps from the 2nd ODI onwards.

The Test retirement might just free up Quinton and allow him to extend his white-ball career.
