Shubman Gill struck back-to-back hundreds this week in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 to ensure a top-two finish for Gujarat Titans at the end of the league stage.

Shubman Gill is the top run-scorer for the Titans with 680 runs at a strike rate of 152. He has struck 22 sixes and 67 fours. It was courtesy of his back-to-back hundreds that Gujarat Titans finished the group stage at the top spot with 10 wins and 4 losses from their 14 matches.

After his 101-run knock against SRH, Gill had become the highest individual run-getter in a single innings for GT. Six days later, he bettered his own record with an unbeaten 104-run hand against RCB, which is now the best individual score by a GT batter in the IPL.

In the process, he also became the fourth cricketer to smash two consecutive IPL hundreds. Incidentally, he brought up the feat in the same match when Virat Kohli also went back-to-back, but ended up on the losing side. Shikhar Dhawan and Jos Buttler are the only other batters part of the elite club.

Following his special knock against RCB, Gill also became the youngest player to score 25 50+ scores in T20 cricket. At the age of 25 years and 255 days old, Gill has struck 25 scores of 50 or more, overtaking Pakistan's Ahmed Shehzad.

Gill will have to rise to the occasion once again as Gujarat Titans gear up to face Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
