The match took place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune and it saw Men in Blue registering their fourth consecutive win. Bangladesh after winning the toss and batting first posted a total of 256 for eight. India chased the target in 41.3 overs to win their fourth game.

Bangladesh were off to a cautious start as Indian bowlers bowled impeccable lines and lengths. But once Tanzid Hasan (51:43b, 5x4, 3x6) and Litton Das (66:82b, 7x4) had their eyes in, they attacked the opposition and put them under pressure.

The opening 93-run partnership laid a great platform for Bangladesh but they couldn’t capitalise on that. They lost wickets in clusters and were left tottering at 137 for four. Senior pros Mushfiqur Rahim (38:46b, 1x4, 1x6) and Mahudullah (46:36, 3x3, 3x6) then stood tall and played vital hands. Their knocks powered Bangladesh to a total of 256 for eight. Ravindra Jadeja (two for 38) and Jasprit Bumrah (two for 41) were the pick of the bowlers.

India was off to a flying start, thanks to Rohit Sharma (48: 40b, 7x4, 2x6) and Shubman Gill (53:52b, 5x4, 2x6) batted aggressively. The duo added 88 runs for the opening partnership and provided a great platform for others. Virat Kohli (103 not out: 97b, 6x4, 4x6) slammed a magnificent ton and along with KL Rahul (34:34b, 3x4, 1x6) took his side home with eight wickets in hand.
