Asked to bat first, Bangladesh posted a total of 306 for eight whereas Australia chased it in 24.3 overs.

Tanzid Hasan (36:34b, 6x4) and Litton Das (36:45b, 5x4) took Bangladesh off the blistering start with the bat. The duo added 76 runs for the opening partnership but both couldn’t get to their fifty. After their stand, Najmul Hossain Shanto (45:57b, 6x4) and Towhid Hridoy (74:79b, 5x4, 2x6) cashed in on the start they got and built a 64 runs partnership. Mahmudullah (32:28b, 1x4, 3x6), Mushfiqur Rahim (21:24b, 1x6) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (29:20b, 4x4) played vital hands at the end. Based on the collective effort, Bangladesh ended with the total of 306 for eight. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of two for 30.

Australia were off to a poor start to their chase as they lost Travis Head (10:11b, 2x4) early. But David Warner (53:61b, 6x4) and Mitchell Marsh (177 not out: 132b, 17x4, 9x6) took the game away from Bangladesh. They added 120 runs for the second wicket before Steve Smith (63 not out: 64b, 4x4, 1x6) chipped in as well with a valiant half-century. He and Marsh added unbeaten runs and took Australia to the eight-wicket victory.
