Match 11 - Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) (Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati)

Match Insights

  • Win Prediction Match Odds:  RR (2.04) vs CSK (1.75)
  • Venue : Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati
  • Pitch Report:  We’ve had some mixed scores here in the recent past, in 2023 197 was almost chased down and RR scored 199-4 in the next game. 2024 saw a low scoring game here (144 chased down with an over to spare) and this season it again looked a little two-paced (RR only managing 151-9 vs KKR) and aided spin. A repeat of that would suit CSK. The last 2 internationals here have shown that it can be high scoring though, 237 vs 221 and 222 vs 225.

Batting Stats T20

Probable XIIs:

RR: Jaiswal, Samson, Parag ©, Rana, Jurel, Hetmyer, Dubey, Hasaranga, Archer, Theekshana, Deshpande, Sharma

CSK: Ravindra, Tripathi, Gaikwad ©, Dube, Hooda, S Curran, Jadeja, Dhoni, Ashwin, N Ahmed, Pathirana, K Ahmed

Home town Hero: Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag will be used to conditions here, as it’s his home ground for state cricket, and we like him to play a big part in this game and beat his performances points line of 23.5 (Bet365, 1.83). Always well thought of, he started to deliver on that promise last season and earned a national call up. With the bat he churned out the runs, but he’s not a one-trick pony. He contributes in the field (39 catches in 72 IPL games) and he bowled his full quota of 4 overs last game. CSK have 4 left handers in their top 7, so he might call upon himself to bowl some overs again here. The complete package he brings looks well suited to this market, as shown by the fact he topped this line 11 times from 15 games last season, and he’s 2/2 this season so far.

Hooda Horror Show:

Another poor showing from Deepak Hooda today, 4 off 9 and the 4 was a lucky edge. He looks low on confidence, I would say he’s out of form but it’s been a few years now since he last showed the form that made him an Indian international. A runs line of 18.5 (Betway, 1.85) looks a long way off, that’s a line he’s failed to pass 21/23 times in the IPL since the start of 2023.

Wicket Takers T20

Fours hard to come by:

I’m surprised after a low-ish scoring game at this ground last time out that the 4s line has actually increased for this game. 3 of the 4 IPL games at this ground have seen Under 35.5 Fours (Paddy Power, 1.8) and 3 of the 4 games these sides have played this season has resulted in fewer than 36 fours.

Ravi to save the day?

There’s a fair few of the CSK top order not in form at the moment, and that could open things up for Jadeja as a “safety blanket” for CSK. He was promoted up the order numerous times last season, batting at number 4 three times and 5 another time. He’s a good shield for Dube not wanting to come in early, and a left hander to compliment Gaikwad. He’s manged 2 starts this season, so his form is fine, and last season he won this market twice from 14 games, so the play here looks to be Jadeja CSK top batsman (16/1, Betvictor)

Top Picks from Experts:

  • Win Prediction Match Odds:  RR (2.04) vs CSK (1.75)
  • Parag over 23.5 player performances points at 1.83 (Bet365)
  • Hooda under 18.5 runs at 1.85 (Betway)
  • Under 35.5 match fours at 1.80 (Paddy Power)
  • Jadeja top CSK batter at 17.00 (Betvictor)
