England have added Nottinghamshire seamer Jake Ball to the squad for the Twenty20 International tri-series involving New Zealand and Australia.

The decision follows after Liam Plunkett continues to struggle with a hamstring injury that he sustained during the third One-Day International in Sydney and is unlikely to be part of the T20 game against Prime Minister XI on Saturday.

Ball has played 17 ODIs and 4 Tests for England but is yet to make an appearance in the shorter format.

Apart from Plunkett, Alex Hales is nursing a hand injury and Chris Jordan is suffering a niggle and will miss the warm-up game in Canberra.

The Trans-Tasman Twenty20 series will be played between 3rd and 21st February.
