Bourne CC - Groundcare Diary – Week ending June 7th 2020

Whilst we are in ‘lockdown’ we are following the Bourne CC Groundcare team (Clive Brown and Ian Greenfield) through the season as their ground maintenance programme progresses throughout the Spring and Summer in readiness for a Return to Cricket.

We caught up with them this week......

Maintenance Work carried out on the Abbey Lawn week ending 07/06 /20

Monday - scarified square omitting reseeded strips, Cylinder cut square to 20mm omitting two reseeded strips Brushed up square using power brush.

Watered reseeded areas.

Tidied up grass net wicket after weekend use 

Set sprinkler system in operation.

Wed - Tidied up grass net wicket, power brushed light cylinder cut,levelled ends with ongar loam and seeded,

With the deteriorating forecast, and the promise of rain applied bag and a half of spring summer fertilizer over the square.  Set sprinkler system in operation just in case.    Let it rain please

Friday - alleluia its raining.  put sprinklers away

Saturday - Hope it knows when to stop.   C©oat and gloves again.  Try next week
