Cricket World Player of the Week - David Warner

David Warner showed why he continues to add value to the Australian side even in the last phase of his career with a scintillating 124-ball 163 to take his team to a massive win against Pakistan.
With Travis Head injured and accumulators Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne in the middle order, Australia always run the risk of lagging behind the eight-ball when it comes to scoring rate if explosive openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh don't get them off to a quick start.
The openers failed in the first two matches, and the Aussies lost both of them. Against Pakistan, Warner and Marsh showed how devastating they can be on their day.
Warner and Marsh added 259 runs for the opening stand, surpassing Shane Watson and Brad Haddin's record of 183 runs against Canada in the 2011 World Cup for the highest-ever runs scored by an Australian opening pair in the ODI World Cup.
This is also the second-highest partnership by the Australian team at any batting position. The highest came in 2015, when David Warner and Steve Smith put together 260 runs against Afghanistan for the second wicket.
Many have questioned Warner's place in the side over the last year or so, but Warner showed just why he continues to be a big part of this Australian team.
