Cricket World Player of the Week - Stuart Broad

Cricket World pays homage to Stuart Broad for his wonderful career and for bringing joy to millions of cricket fans in England and around the world.
The Anderson-Broad pair has been broken at last in international cricket, but surprisingly it's the younger of the two, Stuart Broad, who at 37, has decided to walk away from the game.
Stuart Broad hangs his boots with some top-drawer achievements which certainly make him one of the greatest cricketers to ever play the game.
The Test cricketer Broad finishes as the bowler with the fifth most wickets (604) and fifth most balls bowled (33,698) in the five-day format. He also has two hat-tricks (joint most) to his name and seven instances of 5+ wickets in a spell (most by a seamer since 2001).
Broad took 398 wickets at home (third most) and has a joint tally of 1039 wickets with accomplice James Anderson in 138 Tests together - the most by any pair.
"I like detail, data and research," Broad said. "I need facts and data to believe in something, that was very evident when I came around the wicket to left handers in 2015. I did a lot of research against David Warner because he was so hard to bowl at and found ways to dismiss him. It also helped me hammer down my strengths as a bowler."
Broad dismissed Warner as many as 17 times - the joint third-most a bowler has dismissed a batter in Tests.
"It's about knowing what your weaknesses are but also about finding your strengths and sticking to them," Broad said after playing his last Test - close to a dream finish with England winning by 49 runs at The Oval and Broad claiming the last two wickets to keep Australia to a drawn scoreline in the Ashes.
Look forward to your entertaining presence in the commentary box, or wherever else you consider apt for your second innings. Happy retirement Broady!
