The Proteas continued their dominating run in the tournament as they batted and bowled staggering well at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Asked to bat first, they posted a gigantic total of 357 for four. With the ball, they then bundled out New Zealand for 190 to register their sixth win of the tournament.

South Africa was in for a decent start with the bat as they added 38 runs for the opening partnership. Skipper Teamba Bavuma (24:28b, 4x4, 1x6) perished after a good start. But after that, it was all about Quinton de Kock (114:116b, 10x4, 6x3) and Rassie van der Dussen (133:118b, 9x4, 5x6).

The duo added 200 runs for the second wicket and put their team in the dominating position. David Miller (53:30b, 2x4, 4x6) slammed a brutal half-century at the end that powered Proteas to a total of 357 runs. For New Zealand, Tim Southee picked two wickets.

New Zealand had a torrid outing with the bat as they lost wickets in clusters and were tottering at 100 for eight. Will Young (33:37b, 5x4) and Daryl Mitchell (24:30b, 4x4) tried to get going but couldn’t. Glenn Phillips (60:50b, 4x4, 4x6) in the end got some runs under his belt but that wasn’t enough.

South Africa was all over them with the ball and bundled them out for 167 to win the match. Keshav Maharaj picked four scalps whereas Marco Jansen bagged three wickets as they bundled out opposition for 167 runs to win the game by 190 runs.
