CWC23 Match 45: India enter semi-finals on a high

India ended the league stage of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup as the unbeaten side. They beat Netherlands by 160 runs in their final league game.

This brought about India's ninth straight win in the World Cup, their longest winning streak in the tournament history.

Earlier, skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started well. They added 100 for the first wicket. Gill fell for 51 off 32 balls with three boundaries and four sixes.

Sharma finished on 61 off 54 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes. Then, Virat Kohli (51: 56b, 5x4, 1x6) added 71 runs for the third wicket with Shreyas Iyer.

Thereafter Iyer added 208 runs for the fourth wicket. Iyer remained unbeaten on 128 off 94 balls with 10 boundaries and five sixes. Rahul slammed 102 off just 64 balls with 11 boundaries and four sixes. In the end India finished on 410 for four in their 50 overs.

In their response, Netherlands was well served by a 61 run second wicket stand between Max O'Dowd and Colin Ackermann. But thereafter there was no fight whatsoever. Sybrand Engelbrecht hung around for a while to make 45 off 80 balls. But then there was a collapse.

Teja Nidamanuru swung his bat around for a while as he top-scored with . India used as many as nine bowlers. For India the best bowlers were Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja as they picked up two wickets apiece. Netherlands were bowled out for 250 in 47.5 overs.
