England ended the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup on a high as they pounded Pakistan by 93 runs. The game between the two teams took place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

England batted first after winning the toss and ended with 337 for nine. Pakistan on the other hand didn’t bat well as they were bundled out for just 244.

England openers Dawid Malan (31:39b, 5x4) and Jonny Bairstow (59:61b, 7x4, 1x6) were tested early on by the Pakistan bowlers. But they did well to hang in and gave a decent start to the team, adding 82 runs for the partnership. After their stand, Ben Stokes (84:76b, 11x4, 2x6) and Joe Root (60:72b, 4x4) batted well to take the team to the dominating position. A vital cameo from Jos Buttler (27:18b, 3x4, 1x6) and Harry Brook (30:17b, 2x4, 2x6) powered England to a total of 337 for nine. 

Pakistan were off to a disappointing start as they lost both the openers for just 10 runs. Skipper Babar Azam (38:45b, 6x4) and Mohammad Rizwan (36:51b, 2x4) had started but couldn’t capitalise on that. The same story happened with Saud Shakeel (29:37b, 4x4) and Agha Salman (51:45b, 6x4, 1x6). Haris Rauf (35:23b, 3x4, 3x6) and Mohammad Wasim Jr (16:14b, 2x4, 1x6) entertained the crowd with their partnership in the end. England bowlers kept chipping in from time to time and bundled out the opposition for 244 to win the game by 93 runs.
