TATA IPL 2025 Match 13: Punjab on a roll, register eight wicket win over Lucknow

Punjab Kings registered their second successive win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after they beat Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday. Asked to bat, Lucknow ended with a total of 171 for seven, which Punjab chased with 22 balls to spare.

Lucknow didn't have the kind of start that they would've wanted as in-form batter Mitchell Marsh bagged a golden duck. Aiden Markram (38:18b, 4x4, 1x6) looked in decent touch but he couldn't carry on the start that he had. Soon after, Rishabh Pant fell too as Lucknow was reduced to 35 for three. Nicholas Pooran (44:30b, 5x4, 2x6) and Ayush Badoni (41:33b, 1x4, 3x6) then brought the team back into the game with their 54-run stand for the fourth wicket. But their partnership also didn't last long as Punjab kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Abdul Samad (27:12b, 2x4, 2x6) then played a brilliant cameo in the end and powered Lucknow to a total of 171 for seven.

Chasing the target, Punjab lost Priyansh Arya early but Prabhsimran Singh (69:34b, 9x4, 3x6) played a blinder to take his team off to a flying start. Prabhsimran, along with skipper Shreyas Iyer (52 not out:32b, 3x4, 5x6), added 84 runs for the second wicket that put Lucknow under massive pressure. Impact player Nehal Wadhera (43 not out:25b, 3x4, 4x6) played a vital hand as he and Iyer added unbeaten 67 runs to take Punjab home with eight wickets in hand.
