Chennai Super Kings opener Devon Conway smashed three consecutive half-centuries in the last week.

Conway was part of Chennai Super Kings' opening fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders but could only manage three runs off eight deliveries and was dropped thereafter.

He was unavailable in between due to his wedding. Ever since his return to the IPL, Conway has hit sublime form and has scored 87, 56 and 85 not out from his last three innings.

He has also been part of a couple of century partnerships with fellow CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and the two have given Chennai Super Kings a slight chance of making it to the playoffs.

Conway now has 231 runs from 4 matches in IPL 2022 at an average of 77 and a brilliant strike rate of 155. He has struck 21 boundaries and 11 sixes and has scored three half-centuries on the trot.

The late bloomer has succeeded across formats for New Zealand and even scored a double century on his Test debut at Lord's.

Conway is pretty similar to Faf du Plessis, who served CSK quite well at the top of the order for a long time, when it comes to temperament.

The opener was always known to play well against pacers but the way he has tackled spinners in the last couple of matches has made him a massive threat against any bowling attack.
