Cricket World Player of the Week - KL Rahul

If there's anyone who has even come close to challenging Jos Buttler's supremacy in IPL 2022, it is KL Rahul.

One of the most stylish batsmen going around across all three formats, KL Rahul brought up his second century of this edition of the IPL and the second one against Mumbai Indians within a week as he took Lucknow Super Giants to a comfortable 36-run victory against Mumbai in the 37th match of IPL 2022.

This not only catapulted Lucknow Super Giants to the fourth place in the leaderboard with 5 wins from 8 matches, but also meant that Mumbai Indians continued to languish at the bottom with 8 defeats from as many matches.

On a Wankhede Stadium pitch where all other batters struggled, KL Rahul stood out for his unbeaten 103 of 62 balls, going at a strike rate of 166.

This took Lucknow to a total of 168 against which MI fell short by 36 runs.

Just a week ago, KL Rahul had smashed another century against Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians with a 60-ball 103 which also took Lucknow to a victory.

Rahul now sits at the second spot in the run-scoring charts in IPL 2022 with 368 runs from 8 matches, including two centuries, one half-century and the best of 103 not out.
