Cricket World Player of the Week - Nicholas Pooran

Smashing quick-fire runs for MI New York in Major League Cricket or taking it up a notch for West Indies against India, explosive batter Nicholas Pooran seems to have found his mojo back.

Nicholas Pooran has been in sensational form of late. He recently guided his franchise, MI New York to the maiden Major League Cricket title.

Pooran put on a show in the US with a stroke-filled 137* off just 55 balls as MI New York hunted down Seattle Orcas' target of 184 within just 16 overs to make ripples across the world.

What made it extra special was that Pooran was leading the franchise, finished as the highest run-scorer in the competition with 388 runs from 8 matches, and also walked away with the Player of the Match award in the final.

The southpaw has carried his form in the 5-match T20I series against India as well, and took his team to another victory in the 2nd T20I at Providence Stadium, Guyana with another brilliant hand of 67 off 40 balls which all but sealed the deal in pursuit of a modest 153.

The skill that the man possesses is undeniable, but Pooran has been blowing hot and cold over the last couple of years and hasn't been able to do justice to his talent. He will now expect to extend this purple patch for as long as possible.
