Cricket World's Player of the Week - Haseeb Hameed, Nottinghamshire CCC
©REUTERSNottinghamshire have their first win under new red-ball captain Haseeb Hameed, whose magnificent unbeaten 247 in their first innings was the biggest component in their victory.
Opener Hameed, who finished 24 not out in his second innings, was on the field for every minute of the contest.
Haseeb Hameed scored nearly half of Nottinghamshire’s 501 runs, transforming an overnight deficit of 52 with seven wickets down into a first-innings lead of 172.
In his first season as Nottinghamshire’s captain, he spent a total of 10 hours and 21 minutes at the crease. He received exceptional support from England fast bowler Olly Stone, who achieved a career-best 90 during their 163-run partnership.
