Match Analysis

Asked to bat, Bengaluru managed 169 for eight, which Gujarat chased with 13 balls to spare.

Bengaluru had a horrible start to their innings as they lost four wickets quickly. Virat Kohli was the first wicket to fall and after that Devdutt Padikkal, Phil Salt and skipper Rajat Patidar were back in the hut too as Bengaluru was left reeling at 42 for four.

With the team under pressure, Liam Livingstone (54:40b, 1x4, 5x6) held the one end and slammed a brilliant half-century. Jitesh Sharma (33:21b, 5x4, 1x6) supported him well as the duo added 52 runs for the fifth wicket.

In the end, Tim David (32:18b, 3x4, 2x6) finished the innings on a high as Bengaluru posted a total of 169 for eight. For Gujarat, Sai Kishore picked two wickets.

Chasing the target, Gujarat had a decent 42-run opening stand between Sai Sudharsan (49:36b, 7x4, 1x6) and skipper Shubman Gill (14:14b, 1x4, 1x6). After the captain fell in fifth over, Jos Buttler (73 not out:39b, 5x4, 6x6) took charge and put Bengaluru bowlers under massive pressure.

He along with Sudharsan added 75 runs for the second wicket. Buttler slammed a brilliant half-century while Sherfane Rutherford (30 not out:18b, 1x4, 3x6) acted as a great support as Gujarat chased the target with eight wickets in hand.
