TATA IPL 2025 Match 37: Kohli, Padikkal, spinners script Bengaluru win














Royal Challengers Bengaluru came back to winning ways by beating Punjab Kings by seven wickets in the return encounter in the IPL 2025 season at Mullanpur on Sunday. Asked to bat, Punjab posted 157 for six in their 20 overs and in response Bengaluru chased down the target in 18.5 overs to finish on 159 for three.

Match Analysis
Asked to bat, Punjab got off to a brisk start as Priyanshu Arya and Prabhsimran Singh added 42 runs for the first wicket. Then there was bit of a slump as Punjab kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Punjab was then well served by a 36 run fifth wicket stand between Josh Inglis and Shashank Singh. Towards the end Marco Jansen used the long handle well. Punjab ended on 157 for six in their 20 overs. For Punjab the best bowlers were Krunal Pandya (2-25) and Suyash Sharma (2-26).
In their response Bengaluru was well served by a 103 run second wicket stand between Virat Kohli and Devdutt Parikkal. In the end Kohli remained unbeaten with 73 off 54 balls with seven boundaries and one six. Parikkal made 61 off just 35 balls with five boundaries and four sixes. Bengaluru chased down the score to finish on 159 for three in 18.5 overs.
