Cricket World Player of the Week - Jasprit Bumrah

Returning to competitive cricket for the first time since September 2022, Jasprit Bumrah has taken to international cricket like a fish to water once again.
There must have been a few nerves as the slingy bowler was returning to international cricket after almost a year. However, Bumrah bowled as if he had never gone anywhere, picking up 2 wickets and bowling 16 dot balls in his 4-over spell.
The team management and the selectors backed Bumrah to the hilt and were very confident in him as they named him skipper for the Ireland series, despite him returning after a long and serious injury layoff.
The pacer repaid the faith of the selectors with a Player-of-the-Match winning performance upon return. He was on the mark with his tactics as captain as well, and the Indian fans would have taken a sigh of relief after seeing his rhythm.
Bumrah backed up his performance in the 2nd T20I against Ireland as well, taking 2 wickets from his 4 overs while conceding just 15 runs and also bowling a maiden.
So far, so good for the Indian pace bowling spearhead. The Indian fans will keep their fingers crossed with the ODI World Cup fast approaching.
