Heather Knight's England clinched the 3-match T20I series against India by 2-1, with reputed all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt playing an instrumental role in the victory.

England were in a spot of bother after losing both Sophia Dunkley and Alice Capsey in the very first over of the series, after England batted first in the first T20I at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The series could have gone either way from there had Danielle Wyatt and Nat Sciver-Brunt not joined hands to decimate the Indian bowling attack. Heather Knight's team smashed 197 from their 20 overs on the back of Sciver-Brunt's 53-ball 77 and set the tone for the remainder of the series.

The all-rounder was at her attacking best and tonked 13 boundaries in her knock, going about her business at a strike rate of 145.28.

She returned to dismiss Indian opener Smriti Mandhana with ball in hand as the hosts could only manage 159/6 in their chase and lost the match by a big margin of 38 runs.

Sciver-Brunt contributed with 16 runs and bowling figures of 1/15 in the next match, to help England to another win.

Although Sciver-Brunt was rested for the last match of the series which England lost, she had done enough to secure a 2-1 series win for her team and a Player of the Series award for herself.
