Cricket World Player of the Week - Ravindra Jadeja

After his heroics against Sri Lanka, Ravindra Jadeja has certainly put himself in the conversation for the best all-rounder in world cricket.
As things stand, Ravindra Jadeja is placed at the third spot in the list of Men's Test all-rounders in the ICC rankings, but that might be due to change shortly after his terrific effort of 175 not out and 9 wickets in the first Test of the two-match series between India and Sri Lanka.
It was Jadeja's effort which took the home side to a massive victory by a margin of an innings and 222 runs.
Jadeja has become the first cricketer ever in the history of Test cricket to score more than 150 runs and pick up a 9 wicket-haul in the same test match. He also became only the fourth Indian Test cricketer to pick up 5 wickets and score a century in the same match.
Jadeja was first part of a brilliant partnership with Rishabh Pant which pushed India ahead in the match. Once Pant was dismissed, Jadeja accelerated.
The all-rounder smashed an unbeaten 175 off 228 deliveries with 17 boundaries and 3 sixes. If only Rohit Sharma could have waited half an hour more for the declaration, Jadeja might have hit his maiden Test double century.
Likewise, another wicket would have given him a century and a 10-fer in the same Test match, but that does not take anything away from Jadeja's once-in-a-lifetime effort.
